Release Notes v4.1.6 — 2026-09-23
What’s new#
- “Reset Network Authentication” is now also available as an action in the Shortcuts app and via Siri. Like
the button in Settings, it does not reconnect the shares by itself, but it can be combined with “Connect
All Network Drives” in a shortcut
- When signing in to Active Directory, the app now prefers the domain controllers of the site the Mac is
located in, if the network is assigned to one
Fixed#
- Kerberos shares could fail to connect with “invalid credentials” even though a valid Kerberos ticket
existed. This could happen when several Kerberos tickets were present at the same time, for example from
Platform SSO and from the on-premises Active Directory. The app now always uses the ticket that matches
the share
- The Kerberos status in Settings and in the “Check Kerberos Status” shortcut now shows the ticket for the
configured realm, even if other Kerberos tickets are present
- With Kerberos tickets from Platform SSO or another tool, shares are now connected as soon as the ticket is
available after login, instead of up to five minutes later. The ticket status in Settings now updates by
itself, and the Kerberos warning in the menu disappears once the shares are connected
- With Kerberos tickets from Platform SSO or another tool, shares are also reconnected right away after
waking from sleep or a network change. Previously the app first waited 30 seconds for its own Kerberos
sign-in, which never happens in this setup
- Collecting debug logs failed for users without administrator rights. The app now collects its own logs in
this case; the additional macOS system logs can only be included with administrator rights
- After switching networks, for example when connecting to a VPN, signing in works again right away.
Previously the app could keep trying domain controllers from the previous network until it was restarted
- After changing the password in the app, the new password is now always saved, even if the sign-in that
follows fails. Previously the next automatic sign-in could remove the saved password
- Kerberos tickets are now handled directly through macOS instead of through command line tools, which
makes signing in and switching between tickets more reliable
- On macOS 27, the shares in the menu bar menu show their status icons again (connected, not connected).
Since version 4.1.5 only the names were displayed
- The MDM key
singleUserMode had no effect. It now works as documented: when set to true, only the
default account is signed in automatically. The default is false, so without the key all configured
accounts are signed in, as before - Setting the MDM key
ExpirationNotificationStartDay to 0 now turns off the daily password expiration
dialog while the countdown in the menu stays. Previously the dialog still appeared on the last day before
the password expired
